The aerospace AS standards contain the requirements of ISO 9001 and additional industry requirements. Some major aerospace manufacturers recommend their suppliers be AS certified. This certification must be issued by CBs accredited to the AS standards by a body recognized by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) or the Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG). ANAB is recognized to accredit CBs to AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120.
A CB must conform to ISO/IEC 17021 and be accredited for ISO9001 by ANAB (or another IAF MLA signatory) for a year prior to applying for AS accreditation. AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 are subordinate standard programs in ANAB's fee schedule.
Please refer to the information about the accreditation process at How to Become an ANAB-Accredited Certification Body.
You can view the aerospace AQMS applications in .pdf format to understand specific requirements but the application process must be completed online via ANAB's EQM database; first-time EQM users must register to create an account.
